McDonald's Menu Prices at 5920 Balboa Ave ★3.5 (728)

Twice now I've had a similar problem here. Last time was 5 min ago. I used all of my rewards points on a Big Mac. Sitting at a patio table, I started my stopwatch and waited (stopwatch because this isn't the first time I was ignored after ordering). 25 min later, I try to go inside to ask about my order. All doors are locked at 9:40 p.m. Lobby closes at 10pm except tonight I guess. Nobody will answer my knocks, and they quickly look away when they make eye contact. So I stand in the drive through line and inquire. 30 min elapsed time. They make me my Big Mac and say, "Here you go," and hand me the burger without making eye contact. No apology. Nothing. This is unacceptably poor service. No food... Locked out of restaurant... Treated rudely... I did nothing to precipitate this.

I had a few sips of my medium drink and then it was empty. Turns out they overfilled the ice above the ice line (yellow for medium fountain drinks). Better training? Of course, the ice cream machine is down most of the time. I always check my items before leaving because half of the time it's prepared incorrectly or they forget my sauce for the chicken nuggets. What I dislike is having to move up to the last pickup window because the fries aren't ready. First world problems, I know.

Got two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches. Both were good as expected. I ordered through the McDonald's app and opted to pickup my sandwiches at the drive thru. I told the employee at the speaker that I had an app order to pickup and gave her the code. She instructed me to go to the first window. There I was given the receipt, thanked, and told to go to the next window. At the 2nd window I was told to go to a 3rd window to pickup the order. The 3rd window is kind of funny, since it seems like an afterthought. Since it is at the corner of the building close to a sign, it is difficult to get close enough to be handed the order without scraping the side of your car. Then to leave you have to turn your wheels hard right. The employees were very friendly. Update: Got 10 McNuggets with the hot mustard. They were good. Update: Got a McChicken sandwich. It was OK, like a giant McNugget.

Showed up at 12, one hour before they closed. Refuses to acknowledge that I was there and never got to order. Pulled up to the window and saw people working but not wanting to do their job???? Just terrible garbage service. This place knees me management ASAP.

There is nothing wrong with the food or cleanliness. In fact, it's probably great if you are doing drive-through. That is the whole problem. There is very little outside of doors and parking spaces in the back for those who don't like letting their cars idle needlessly. To get to the front, one must walk through the drive-through. Also, you have to park in the back since the front is for pick-up. Don't try to go through the outside dining area since that is cordoned off. I guess this is the future
