Very disappointing experience and poor management I rarely leave one-star reviews, but this experience deserves it. We visited this McDonald’s with a valid discount code, but their system was down and the code would not work. Instead of offering any kind of solution or customer service, the managers on duty, Jonathan and Emily, simply said there was “nothing they could do.” That response is unacceptable, especially coming from management. System issues are not the customer’s fault, and a manager has the authority to make reasonable accommodations. A simple manual discount, alternative offer, or even a small courtesy adjustment would have gone a long way. Instead, we were met with an unhelpful attitude and zero effort to make things right. Great customer service is about problem-solving, not hiding behind a broken system. This situation could have easily been turned into a positive experience, but the lack of professionalism and unwillingness to help ensured it wasn’t. I left feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. I hope upper management takes this feedback seriously and provides better training on customer service and empowerment for their managers. Until then, I won’t be returning to this location.

Ordered tenders combo nuggets combo and two mcdouble. Tenders, fries and nuggets were old. Seems like they served us really old food something thats been sitting there for hours.

I had the worst customer experience ever today on 01/02/26 at 6:00pm. My boyfriend had ordered his food through his app. Since he was busy at work, I went to this McDonald’s exactly at 5:59pm to pick up his order. The manager “ Meli “, I believe was her name, since she would ignore every time I asked for her name and had to hear it from another employee. Well she said they had thrown the food away because it had been there for 30 mins and wanted me to reorder it and double purchase an order they threw away. While in the app it didn’t say anything but expected to be ready at 6:01 pm. I proceeded to explain that in the app it didn’t say anything about only 30 mins window pick up. Then she decided to completely ignore me while she wasn’t even busy and had another employee named Jonathan talk to me. Jonathan who then told me I needed to bring my boyfriend and his phone where the order was input from and assured me that he would then remake the order. My boyfriend ASKED for permission to leave work for 15 mins and once he got there they denied to remake the food even after they saw his app order and everything. Unbelievable! I have never ever taken the time to write a bad review. However, not even McDonald’s deserves a manager as incompetent as the one it that shift.

Update: Since when do they put all the chairs up at 5 PM? This is dinner time, not closing time. Please don't tell me you have been following Starbucks footsteps, McDonald's. Original review: I've been coming to this location on and off since way back when it had a fish tank inside. Now it's just a boring modern McDonald's. While this is the cheapest location in Escondido (they are all different prices), it unfortunately has nothing else going for it. No Play Place for kids and yet they are still running around. There is a homeless man hanging out inside almost every day and no one ever does anything about it. I always customize my food with different ingredients and condiments and it's wrong every time. They almost always put orders for the counter out of reach or customers and this wouldn't be a problem if they had a dedicated cashier but there never is. They were playing oldies music here for the longest time and I'm not sure who they were catering to because it has always been a younger crowd, but now lately they have been playing no music which just makes it an awkward dining experience. Somehow In-In-Out can pull this off but not McDonald's. Overall avoid this location if you can.

We drove through but the window attendants were really nice and fast! The new Arch burger is really good but the fries were stale.
